Whats under my foot

We’ve been in the new home for 6 months and I’ve just about got everything organized. The area under the open staircase was the catch all for odds and ends. and I finally tackled it Friday.

My sewing loft on the other hand is about to be moved around again. The kitchen cabinets that were left in the home are under my quilt frame. It’s a great use of space, but the cord hangs up on them as I am quilting and the machine comes to a sudden stop. Before I start, I need to get ahead on my projects. Then I can get in there and do some deep cleaning and organize again.

Over the weekend I embroidered the back of a denim jacket for my sister. The jacket is a baby shower gift.

I sewed some patchwork blocks with leftover Island Batik Woodstock collection. This is the fabric I used in my Butterfly Garden quilt (pattern in my Etsy Shop). The blocks will be used in my March IBA challenge. To cut my strips I used the 3 1/2″ strip die and made these checkerboard blocks.
