Whats under my foot
Put your foot down 231, a weekly linky party every Thursday. Stop by and share your WIP’s, UFO’s, finishes, or any fiber arts projects.
This week I have a lot under my foot. We finally brought the old truck home and shew, what a relief! It has been a while since I have shared my grandson with you all. When his dad pulled into the driveway and he spotted the truck,he was so happy to see it. Wesley is 3 yo now, he also loves my sewing room.

Loki, oh my, he always makes himself the center of attention. I swear this dog knows how to pose for a photo.
Sewing room is 90% done

This is 3 Ikea cubes screwed to a table top that I had. We added casters, a hook on the front and 2 on the side for hanging rulers. There is still a little organizing that needs done, I can sew now. For the top I used a piece of plywood and covered it with cotton batting and fabric. I have cut on it and used my AQ cutter on top. Best of all, if a larger pressing station is needed the mat comes off. Oh yeah, my head has healed mostly.

My little workspace in the middle of the room. The sewing cabinet is an Arrow Mod and will hold a pretty large machine. My work table is an 8′ utility table, instead of legs the top sits on two Singer treadle bases. The big white bag on the right of the photo is my embroidery machine. It sits on a rolling cart.

Prior to this organization there were upper kitchen cabinets sitting under the frame. The problem with that was the longarm cord was getting hung up on the cabinet. When it came to a sudden stop there were mishaps in the quilting. The black totes have my Hobbs Batting, while the others are fabric and one tote with books and patterns. One of the leaders has been removed from the take up bar because I do not use them. Sometimes I don’t measure correctly and cut myself short on backing so I have to leave at least one leader on the frame.

The short kitchen cabinets have been stacked near the tall cabinets and hold my AQ dies.

Here it is looking into the room. There is work to be done to the room itself, the closet needs organizing, but I CAN SEW! Since I’ve moved the room around the lights need repositioned and a couple more added. However, I am waiting until the new ceiling is put in before adding more.

It’s so nice when the sewing room is arranged and you are able to just sit down and sew! Happy stitching!
Absolutely! It only takes one quilt to mess it all up. Good thing I like to clean and straighten up between quilts.
Wesley and Loki together. How will you get anything done? I am sure it will be a no-sew day 😀
lol. Both together are very distracting. Loki eventually finds his pillow for a nap, Wesley wants to talk and explore.
Wesley has gotten so big! He’s adorable!!! I have a grandson, Wesley, also, not yet one year old. I enjoyed the tour of your studio, so organized, with all the different stations!!!
Once the new ceiling is put in I am certain it will be moved around again. There were 3 tall cabinets and 4 upper cabinets left in the house when we bought it and guess what? They’re all in my room. As I get more organized they will work their way down the stairs to give me more floor space. Floor space and table space has always been tops on my list.
