Today is my turn to share in the Meadow Hues Blog Hop hosted by Create With Claudia. Meadow Hues is a signature collection designed by Claudia and is available in shops now. It’s a beautiful collection that includes 20 different elegant fabric . Meadow Hues would create a beautiful quilt using either my Floral Fusion or Flowers and Butterflies quilt pattern. Both patterns are available in my Etsy and Payhip Shops.
Thank you Claudia for inviting me to join your blog hop, I am in love with this collection.

It’s All Up To You
This post is also my March Island Batik “It’s All Up To You” Challenge. If you follow me you were expecting another finish to be presented for the March finish. Hopefully I will be able to share it later this month or next.

A Cathedral Star quilt has been on my bucket list for a long time and I felt this collection and Island Batik Celery would make beautiful quilt.
Before I started cutting and sewing I laid them all out on the table and wondered “what I was thinking” ? Next to the fabrics in Meadow Hues Celery looked like it would be too dark and draw attention from the Meadow Hues fabric I selected. Even so, I went with my initial plan and started sewing.
Industry Partners
Products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge. As an Island Batik Ambassador I receive two shipments a year filled with beautiful Island Batik fabric. Included in these shipments are products from industry partners Hobbs Batting, Schmetz Needles, Deb Tucker Studio 180 Designs, Aurifil Thread, Oliso Irons, Funky Friends Factory, ByAnnie, and AccuQuilt.

- Hobbs Tuscany 100% Wool Batting-I really wanted the quilting to be defined in my finish and Hobbs Heirloom Premium Wool Batting did a wonderful job. I love the way the quilting stands out, and it looks better after it rested a little from being rolled up on the quilt frame.
- Oliso M3Pro Aqua mini iron-This iron is awesome! It is so light and easy to hold, very hot too.
- Aurifil Thread– For piecing and quilting this is my go-to thread.
- Schmetz Needles– Great needles make a huge difference in your finishes projects. My go to is their MicroTex Sharps.
Finishing Up
Loki approved! Once the quilt blocks were sewn together I got really excited, the colors were perfect together. As it turns out, the soft colors in Celery and Meadow Hues blended together as I thought they would giving me a nice soft finish.

Right off the frame
Hobbs Tuscany Wool batting is my favorite when I want the quilting to stand out and with all the negative space in the quilt it was needed. You have to give it a little time to rest after removing it from the frame to fully see the beauty the batting provides.

And here it is in all its shining glory. Meadow Hues is such a beautiful collection that I will add to my stash for another project. Maybe I will be lucky and receive some in my Island Batik Ambassador box in July.

And in the snow
