Welcome to my newest SAL, Floral Fusion.
This SAL has ended.
Individual blocks are still available for purchase, as well as the entire quilt pattern.
For blocks-follow the links below for block purchase and post pages.
To purchase the entire quilt pattern-visit my Etsy or Payhip Shop.
Floral Fusion was born out of my love for the new Island Batik Collection Daisy May. Daisy May was designed by Kathy Engle and is shipping to shops in August/September.
General Sew Along information
Floral Fusion is a fusible applique quilt pattern full of fun colorful flowers. A new block will be released every Monday and free for that week only. When the new block is released the previous block will be available for purchase.
Quilt size and fabric
The minimum quilt size will be 40″ x 40″ (without border). It can be made larger by cutting your background blocks larger, I will leave that decision up to you.
For a 40″ x 40″ quilt you will need 1 3/4 yard of background fabric. For my quilt I am using a mix of the 4 lightest fabrics above to make a patchwork background. You can however use only one fabric for your background.
For the applique shapes you will need an assortment of colorful fabrics from your stash or scrap bin. Example below, and the first block released.
You will Also need a fusible web such as Wonder Under or Heat N Bond. Follow manufacturer’s directions for fusing.
A sewing machine with decorative stitches to secure the applique shapes to the background. My quilt will be finished using a blanket stitch with matching Aurifil Thread.
