Floral Fusion block 8
Floral Fusion is an applique floral pattern with new blocks being release every Monday. For more information and where to find the downloads visit the Floral Fusion SAL Page.
The idea for the sew along came to me while making my September Island Batik Challenge quilt that I will share on Wednesday. In case you weren’t aware, September 3-20 IB will host a blog hop. For the next 3 weeks Island Batik and its Ambassadors will be sharing projects made with 11 new fabric collections shipping to shops now. Each week Island Batik will give away a fabric bundle, or 2, so be sure to visit their blog.
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge. As an Island Batik Ambassador I receive two shipments a year filled with beautiful Island Batik fabric. Included in these shipments are products from industry partners Hobbs Batting, Schmetz Needles, Deb Tucker Studio 180 Designs, Aurifil Thread and new this year, Oliso Irons. I am a Missouri Star Quilt Co. Partner and earn a small commission if you make a purchase.

Floral Fusion Block 8
For today’s block you will need to make a total of 8 blocks.
I’ve been trying to remember to alternate the block direction equally between the blocks, trying is the key word there. For 4 blocks I appliqued the flower with a dark shade on top and light on bottom. Then 4 blocks with the flower appliqued to the light blocks.
Cutting
Cut 1 ( 4 1/2″ x 8 1/2″) rectangle. Or
