This week I have been working on my August Island Batik challenge. The challenge is Marvelous Mini, a wall hanging, mug rug, or mini quilt. For this project I had to dig deep and I this time I don’t mean mentally.
Yesterday I shared my flimsy for the Something Smells Fishy blog hop hosted by Just Let Me Quilt. The fishy part really had me all over the place in my design process. I found as many fish blocks as I could but decided I needed something more original.
July 1st I received shipment 2 for the 2024 Island Batik Ambassador program and the boxes are still sitting in my sewing room unopened. Before the end of the week though I plan to get these boxes opened and be wowed.

At the moment I am all caught up with IBA challenges, until the new box of goodies arrive sometime next week. I’m really enjoying some relaxed sewing for the “Something Smells Fish Blog Hop” hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt.
Today is my second appt this week to the dentist, yuck. I have been making progress with projects and finally finished the organization in my sewing room.
Yesterday I shared my For the Birds/Create for a Cause quilt. With this finish I discovered I really do love improv quilting and learned to accept sometimes the block placements do not always work.
One project must be finished with a post on June 19 and this will double as my June Island Batik project, Create for a Cause.
