Whats under my foot
Put your foot down 229, a weekly linky party every Thursday. Stop by and share your quilt WIP’s, UFO’s, finishes, or any fiber arts projects.
Over the weekend I finished my Island Batik March Challenge, with the help of Loki. Of course he couldn’t stay off of the quilt while I was adding the binding. It is also my finish for the Give it a Whirl blog hop hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt. Stop by on the 18 for the reveal and there are 3 free patterns of my new Butterfly Garden quilt, so come early before they are gone.

Sewing room work
A little work and organization has begun in my sewing room. Since I can’t go up with storage I have to be creative and this hack I’ve seen online is great. Best of all, the only thing purchased were casters.
For the base I used the top off of an adjustable height table that no longer functioned. The 3 Ikea cubes were then screwed down to the table top. I’m short and this is the perfect cutting table height for me, and it can be rolled around.

By combining the cubes I actually saved space. Individually they take up roughly 15″ x 30″, so that was 90″ of wall space being used by something relatively small. Combined, it is 30″ x 45″ and it doesn’t have to sit against valuable wall space. I
f I want to roll it to the middle of the room, roll it to have additional table space while sewing, or cut fabric under the window I can. There is a little overhang on the front and back as the table top is only 2′ x 4′.
Hopefully this weekend I can get more done and share a mostly finished room with you on Thursday.

Visit last weeks Put your foot down 228 here to see what else was shared. Somewhere in your post that you are linking up, I ask you to share a link back to this post. Thank you for joining the linky party!
Loki looks so cute all snuggled up in that quilt! Great idea for the cubes and now you can move your cutting and storage table anywhere! I wish we had an Ikea in our state instead of having to drive 3 hours to Atlanta to visit! Have a great weekend!
The nearest to us is over in the St Louis area. I paid for delivery.
