Whats under my foot
my room is a disaster again. I decided to pull my dies out of the closet and organizing them on these wire shelves.
Then, I started organizing my fabric by yardage and less than a yard. I found if I replaced the larger cuts of fabric in my plastic drawers with smaller cuts I would eliminate a lot of plastic bins. Now what to do with yardage?
Look at that expression, not again. The dies were removed back to the closet and 1 yard or more cuts were bagged and hung on the shelves. I didn’t count the totes I eliminated by doing this, I’ve certainly killed two birds with one stone. All fabric is now together by size instead of scattered out around the room, and I can now see my fabric without pulling totes and removing lids to find what I am looking for.
The rest of the organizing should go pretty quick now unless I change my mind again.

Hi Denise, the joys of organising and re-organising 🙂 I think that having your yardage fabric at hand is a lot more convenient than your dies. I hope that it’ll work out for you. Good luck with the rest. I’ve come to the realization that I have to do some organising of my fabric. My scraps are all good, as well as my yardage. It’s just the rest – I don’t have much yardage, most of my stash is fat quarters. How to organise them!!!! Thanks for the party and take care.
The plastic drawers are great for the smaller pieces, aka FQ’s. Most are just too deep and there’s so much wasted space. Wait’ll I take photos of everything I had fabric stashed.
Organizing is a mess but so worth it. Hope you can find some time for stitching!

It does, keeping the dust off is the battle though. I’m still going to look for a short cabinet that will fit in my room .
