Put your foot down 225
Put your foot down 225, a weekly linky party every Thursday for you to share your quilt WIP’s, UFO’s, finishes, or any fiber arts projects.
Whats under my foot
My log cabin quilt is on the quilt frame waiting for me to climb the stairs, which I will do this evening. It’s been a while since I’ve come this close to a deadline, it must be done Feb 22nd. As long as there are no more hiccups I will meet the deadline with time to spare. Visit the Island Batik blog for a first hand look at the beautiful collections being released this month in the hop. You will also find the hop schedule so you can catch up with what has been shared so far.
This weeks Island Batik giveaway:
a Rafflecopter giveawayI will also have a pattern giveaway on my day to post on Feb 22. The pattern is called Butterfly Garden, it is a foundation paper pieced log cabin quilt that is highly customizable. You will have 5 fill blocks to place anywhere in the quilt that you like.
Another blog hop
On Feb 20th I will share my “It Moose Be Love”, a hop hosted by Joan at MooseStash Quilting. You can see the schedule for It Moose Be Love blog hop here. Hope to see you there!

i think the best way to learn to quilt, is just to start and keep going. have fun along the way and don’t judge your work harshly.
That is how I learned. Sometimes I think those who judge their own work too harshly learn the most. At least for me, judging encourages me to do better.
I’m looking forward to seeing what your log cabin quilt looks like. Happy quilting!
It’s almost done, I’m down to the two bottom rows of quilting.
I left my comment and now the raftocommenter wants me to leave another. What’s the best way to learn to sew accurately? Slow down the speed of your needle, you’ll fine it’s easy to control your 1/4″ seam allowance. And remember, just because you’re using a 1/4″ foot doesn’t mean your seam is going to be 1/4″.
Good point
Hi Denise, good luck with your deadlines. Looking forward to seeing both of your quilts!
Almost done.
Sewing an accurate 1/4 inch seam is critical for the success of your project.
Absolutely!
I am a fan of log cabin quilts… but I find they can be very time consuming. I have one that got too big (how did that happen?) so I took out a row and haven’t gotten back to it yet. I’m looking forward to seeing all the quilts in the Blog Hop.
Oh no, perhaps try a different design that includes a couple different log cabin blocks. That way it doesn’t seem as repetitive. Thank you for stopping by.
