Whats under my foot

Yay, I have an actual finish! The Shanty still needs cleaned, making something was definitely important for my sanity. Using some of my Island Batik scraps I made this mini 4 point star. These were test blocks that clearly failed since my points aren’t lining up and the outside blocks were cut off by my binding. Another one, hopefully improved coming soon.

    Today is my second appt this week to the dentist, yuck. I have been making progress with projects and finally finished the organization in my sewing room.

    Yesterday I shared my For the Birds/Create for a Cause quilt. With this finish I discovered I really do love improv quilting and learned to accept sometimes the block placements do not always work.

    This is my second year participating and again I have chosen our veterans as my charity. My goal is to cover as many Vietnam Vets in my area as possible, before they’re gone. Last year I awarded Dan with a quilt I made from the AccuQuilt tumbler and star applique dies.

  5. i truly appreciate you sharing your “imperfect” endeavors with us. it actually gives me confidence to try something new, knowing that yours didn’t turn out perfectly yet still look so pretty!! (mine won’t be any better, but i will not be as frustrated in the “trying something new learning curve”.) thank you

    1. For years I would not share my mistakes because I was ashamed, now I realize it’s part of learning and by posting the good and bad I can see how I’ve grown. While not perfect it is a perfect piece to hang from the front of my longarm with magnets, lol.
      Learning new skills is great, something I would not have said 10 years ago.
