Island Batik Ambassador Shipment 2
The products featured in this post were provided to me free of charge. As an Island Batik Ambassador I receive two shipments a year filled with beautiful Island Batik fabric. Included in these shipments are products from industry partners Hobbs Batting, Schmetz Needles, Deb Tucker Studio 180 Designs, Aurifil Thread and new this year, Oliso Irons.
Thank you Island Batik, Hobbs Batting, byAnnie and Aurifil Thread for another amazing box.
Box 1
A couple weeks ago I receive shipment 2 for the Island Batik Ambassador program and the boxes sat idle until Wednesday evening. Before I forget, you can see the contents from shipment 1 here. Between dentist appts, oral surgeon appts, a messy sewing room from other commitments, I just couldn’t find the time. The wait was difficult, but well worth the wait.
This is my 6th year as an Ambassador, I apply every year because the challenges keep me on my toes and I am forced to work outside of my comfort zone. And of course I love the Island Batik fabric and work with it almost exclusively, they also have the best industry partners.
Aurifil Thread is a generous partner and sent 5 spools of coordinating thread to be used with Daisy May in the September blog hop. Daisy May was designed by Kathy Engle and will be shipping to shops in August/September. It is a beautiful collection, I cant wait to share them with you.
Fabric
Here I have 2 yard cuts of dark gray, white and black solids. The solids are from the foundation collection and are available throughout the year. Also shown in the photo below are 1/2 yard cuts of blenders and basics, also available throughout the year.
Gradations are wonderful bundles for just about any project. This is Opulent Orange, 10″ squares, 42 pieces of 20 different fabrics. Ravishing Red 2 1/2″ strips, 40 strips of 20 different fabrics. All of the fabrics from the Gradations pre-cuts are available individually throughout the year.
Twilight designed by Kathy Engle for Create with Claudia. I also have a light and dark coordinating fabric to use with the 10″ squares.
Bags
ByAnnie sends each Ambassador their chosen pattern with all accessories needed. This year I chose The Write Stuff, a notebook cover.
Box 2-Hobbs Batting
Another generous industry partner is Hobbs Batting. Whether you want cotton, poly, wood, down, fiber, well, they have it. In this shipment I have received a couple that I can’t remember using.
The Tuscany Collection Supreme 100% Unbleached Cotton is wonderful. It’s what I can imagine sleeping on a cloud would feel like.
I am anxious to try the Tuscany Silk Blend.
The black Heirloom 80/20 Poly Cotton blend is great if you’re working with dark fabric, or if you need your background fabric to be just a tad darker.
Thermore is great when you want a low loft or lightweight finish. I’ve used Thermore in machine embroidery between my stabilizer and fabric for a soft finish.
Beautiful choices. I would love to be able to play with these. Enjoy!
They are too pretty to cut into.
Great goodies, Denise!
I love them all
