Over the weekend I finished my Island Batik March Challenge, with the help of Loki. Of course he couldn’t stay off of the quilt while I was adding the binding. It is also my finish for the Give it a Whirl blog hop hosted by Carol at Just Let Me Quilt.

We’ve been in the new home for 6 months and I’ve just about got everything organized. The area under the open staircase had been the catch all for things needing to be placed in it’s forever home and I finally tackled it Friday.
It’s that time again, the first Island Batik blog hop of the year, a lot of new fabric collections and designs to go with them. The fabric I received is Woodstock designed by Kathy Engle.
Since the word LOVE is in the hop title and it is February my project had to have hearts. I’ve been saving this Grenadine fabric from Island Batik and paired it with their white solid.
My log cabin quilt is on the quilt frame waiting for me to climb the stairs, which I will do this evening. It’s been a while since I’ve come this close to a deadline, it must be done Feb 22nd.
This week I have been working overtime on my Island Batik log cabin quilt. My day to share is Feb 22nd and I realized I forgot to untick scaling in the printer settings. Some of my blocks are 1/2″ too small, here are just a few blocks I need to remake
Work has begun on my IBA log cabin challenge for February. For the background of my quilt I have chosen fondant and muslin fabrics, both Island Batik Foundations.

I’m about to cut into a colorful bundle of fabric called Woodstock. The first Island Batik blog hop begins next month and the challenge is a log cabin quilt. Look at those peace signs!
