Put your foot down 242
Put your foot down 242, a weekly linky party every Thursday. Stop by and share your WIP’s, UFO’s, finishes, or any fiber arts projects.
Whats under my foot
Today is my second appt this week to the dentist, yuck. I have been making progress with projects and finally finished the organization in my sewing room.
Yesterday I shared my For the Birds/Create for a Cause quilt. With this finish I discovered I really do love improv quilting and learned to accept sometimes the block placements do not always work.
Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for panels. A few months ago Carol from Just Let Me Quilt shared her finish with this panel and I knew my grandson would love it, I found it on Etsy btw. Well, he loved it and I learned I do not love panels. It was an odd shape and I was clueless about what to add for borders.
His name quilted into the design.
Your shares from last week
From Viridian’s blog some very pretty flying geese.
Check out these colorful blocks from Gretchen’s Little Corner.

I ask that somewhere in the post that you are linking up, that you to share a link back to this post. Thank you for joining the linky party!
I don’t love panels either. I receive many beautiful, creative ones to quilt, but the few times I’ve ever purchased them, they are typically more of a rhombus than a rectangle. I also struggle with how to finish them.
So glad to hear I am not alone in more ways than one. There wasn’t much room for trimming on one side of the panel and adding blocks, forget about that.
Panels are hard to work with, they’re never straight and their weird sizes. But we’ll do anything to make the grands happy! Your grandson doesn’t care if it’s not perfect, he’s just happy you made it for him. Happy stitching!
That is so true about the panel size. Unless I can physically measure one, I wont do that again, lol.
Love your Create for a Cause quilt, Denise! So cheerful.
Lol, thank you again!
