Whats under my foot
First, let me apologize for dropping the ball last week, I totally forgot about the linky party on Thursday. Wednesday was my day to share the May Island Batik finish, coupled with, I was so involved getting ahead with work so I could take a 5 day weekend. A 5 day weekend or 5 days off in a row is rare for me because I run my own business and I work alone.
I wish I had gorgeous photos and wonderful stories to share of my weekend with family and friends. Truth is, I spent the first 4 days cleaning and reorganizing my sewing room disorder and Monday I decided to sew instead of finishing.

Here are a couple things they sent to me, t-shirt is not shown, Loki approved. I can’t wait to make the Spooky Season Quilt as I love Halloween.

Would you like Jenny’s new tool box, they are available for pre-order. It’s much prettier than my tool box.

Sewing room disorder
Day one was dismantling. There were 2 drawer units left in the home when we purchased it and they made their way upstairs. Thursday I slid them down the stairs, loaded in my truck and dropped off at the end of the driveway with a FREE sign on them. They were gone in an hour.
Day 2, that is what I walked into on Friday morning. It was too warm in the loft, the fan from the shed didn’t help so we put the window unit.

Day 3 was spent organizing fabric. Adding shelves to this tiny closet was the best way to maximize the space. The acrylic boxes came from a local auction house who sells items for Amazon. There were 12 in the box and I had to assemble them, Day 1. I paid $27 at auction, a $150 value and they were brand new. EDITED TO ADD LINK FOR CLEAR BOXES

Day 4 I added all AQ dies to the cubes that is my cutting table, then played around with the layout. I forgot to mention, I also vacuumed and cleaned the floor as I placed everything. Once I finish the project I am working on I will share the final layout.
There was also a couple of trips to town on Day 4, I purchased two 7000 lumen shop lights and got them hung.

That is how I spent my long holiday weekend, how did you spend yours?

I ask that somewhere in the post that you are linking up, that you to share a link back to this post. Thank you for joining the linky party!
Your space is coming right along. Can you come organize mine next??!!! LOL I really like those acrylic boxes you found. Do you recall their name and size? I wish we had an auction house here! I’ll have to check on Amazon for them. I have a several rolling plastic carts where I store all my embroidery thread but they aren’t strong enough for fabric. Those would be great to sit on top of my cabinets in my sewing room! Looking forward to seeing what you make with your MSQC products! Thanks for sharing my quilt!
I absolutely would if we lived closer. The boxes are great, they definitely keep the dust away and I need that, this house is dustier than any I’ve ever lived in. Plus you can see the beautiful fabric. FQ fit great in them. I will go edit the post right now and add a link.
It’s looking good. Those lights look nice and bright.
They are. 7 are 4500 or 5500 lumen, 2 new lights are 7000 and I love them. The cords are a hassle to coral and a little unsightly, but I can deal with that.
Looks like a great way to spend the long weekend and you will be so much happier and productive! I like those clear boxes you got from your auction house.
This layout feels more natural than any I’ve had so far in this house, fingers crossed. There is an auction house about a mile up the road from me but I’ve never been. The one I purchased the boxes from is further away but they have online auctions too and that is where they came from. It’s nice because you can look up the items on Amazon to see more about the items.
